Students will learn to create strong artistic compositions as they learn about color theory, linear perspective, and the properties and techniques of using different art materials accurately: watercolors, acrylics, pen & ink, tempera, gouache, etc. 3D art assemblage will involve exploring and creating sculptures with materials like paper, cardboard, fabric, wires, beads, foil, pipe cleaners, papier-mâché and clay. This unique process will involve transforming pre-existing non-art objects into an artistic expression! For inspiration students will be introduced to the artworks of famous assemblage artists - Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, Marcel Duchamp, and Kurt Schwitters, to name a few. They will also develop personal art journals to keep their beautiful sketches and creative ideas! Instructors - Preeti Singh and Mickey Waring |

Ages 9-13 Time: 9:30am - 1:00 pm Fee: $350 ($325 if registering for both weeks) Early Birds: $10 Registration Fee waived if booked before May 1) In this unique art camp students will learn and practice printmaking to create their one-of-a-kind printed artwork. They will work with a variety of transfer techniques including monotype and monoprinting and understand how different materials like ink, paint, paper, and pressure interact to create a printed impression. They will learn about the additive and reductive ways to develop an image on a printing surface/plate. Each process will begin with sketching and creating a composition by using various elements of drawing (balance, rhythm, space, movement, exact delineation of forms and figures, realistic and abstract, light and shade, perspective, etc.) followed by transferring the image onto the printing surface and finally making one’s own original prints! For inspiration students will be introduced to the works of famous artists who used printmaking as a medium of artistic expression - Rembrandt, Edvard Munch, Henri Matisse, Marc Chagall, and Andy Warhol to name a few. They will also be making art journalling books to compile all of their beautiful artwork! Instructors – Preeti Singh and Mickey Waring |
