Mathias Iff: 
Cello Teacher 

 ​Mathias Iff has completed his BA and MM (concert maturity diploma) at the Conservatory of Bern, Switzerland, and is currently pursuing his DMA in the class of Jonathan Spitz at Rutgers, NJ. He is an advocate for contemporary music and extensively studied under the guidance of several musicians of the Klangforum Wien, one of the top leading ensembles for contemporary music. He deepened his studies in masterclasses with significant musicians such as Siegfried Palm, Peter Wispelwey, Maria Kliegel, Frans Helmerson, Toshio Hosokawa, the American String Quartet, and Juilliard String Quartet.
He received full scholarships to participate in the Casals festival in Prades, France, in the Luxembourg master classes, and the Eastern music festival, South Carolina. He is a prizewinner of several Swiss competitions, including the National Swiss Youth competition, and International Youth Music competitions. As an active soloist and chamber musician, his career leads him to concerts all over Europe and the United States. He was a featured artist of festivals such as the Biennale Bern and Society for Contemporary Music in Zürich, which can be heard in broadcasts of the Swiss National Radio.
