WESTERHOFF SCHOOL OF MUSIC & ART BECOMES A MAJOR PATRON OF THE METUCHEN ARTS COUNCIL (MAC)

March 1, 2019 -- The Westerhoff School of Music & Art entered into a public-private partnership with the Metuchen Arts Council (MAC). In the partnership, we will be a major patron of MAC and work together to advocate, provide and promote enriching cultural programs and events that foster an appreciation for music (classical and jazz) and visual arts in the life of our community. The events already planned or in planning stage for this year include a promotional video, a chamber concert featuring a string quartet from the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra in March, a Jazz Fest, a series of Cornerstone Jazz “Jam” sessions, a classical concert in November and a Visual Arts program.

Reflecting on the partnership, Helga Westerhoff, the school’s Founder and Executive Director, commented, “When we founded our school in Metuchen in 1998, it was part of our mission to be an integral part of the community. The Metuchen Arts Council shares our vision and commitment to the arts, and we are very proud to be a partner."

The Westerhoff School joins the Middlesex County Cultural and Arts Trust Fund, as well as the Metuchen Savings Bank, as major sponsors of the Metuchen Arts Council’s music and art programing.  A full list of programs for 2019 will be announced soon.
