Janice Bland, a life-long New Jersey resident, began her violin studies at the age of 8. She is a graduate of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ, where she studied with Joseph Kovacs and Daniel Schumann. After graduation Janice studied with Lisa Lyons, violinist with the Metropolitan Opera and Oscar Ravina, violinist with the N.Y. Philharmonic Orchestra. Janice has studied the Suzuki violin teaching method extensively at the School for Strings in New York City, N.Y. where she received her teaching certification in books 1-10. In addition to teaching Janice has performed with many notable artists including Barbara Cook, Cab Calloway, Linda Ronstadt, and Diana Ross. Janice has played with the Delaware Valley Philharmonic, and the N.Y. Chamber Orchestra She is currently a regular member of the Capital Philharmonic Orchestra.
