Janette Goleme is an established singer in the tri-state area, and her repertoire includes opera, operetta, oratorio, art song and musical theatre. She has performed with New York City’s Amato Opera, The NY Gilbert and Sullivan Players, The Bel Canto Opera, The NJ Festival Opera, The NJ State Opera, as well as many recitals, and cabaret shows throughout the area. Ms. Goleme is a former ENMARK American Traditions International Competition quarter-finalist. She is currently soprano soloist at Grove Reformed Church in North Bergen, NJ. She has taught private voice and piano for many years from her own studio and also teaches at the Westerhoff School for Music and Art in Metuchen, NJ. Currently a voice teacher for Jersey City High School of the Arts, she has taught vocal music in public and parochial schools and served as an adjunct professor at Kean University in Union, NJ. and Middlesex County College, Edison, N,J. Along with being a singer/actress and teacher, Ms. Goleme has worked as a professional costumer, director, and freelance writer. Recently she directed and costumed a revised production of the musical, “Charles and Diana” in NYC. She is also director/producer of her own light opera group “Opera GoLightly” which has done benefit programs in Middlesex County. As a writer, she has done copywriting at The Wall Street Journal, written freelance articles for the Metuchen Minute, and Classical Singer Magazine, and the Woodbridge Patch.
