Curtis Holtgrefe is a current graduate student at New Jersey City University pursuing a master’s degree in Multiple Woodwind Performance and holds an undergraduate degree in Music Education from the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). Curtis has studied soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones in addition to flute, clarinet and oboe. Performing experiences include CCM Jazz Lab Band, CCM Pit Orchestras, NJCU Symphony orchestra and professional big bands.
In addition to performing, Curtis is passionate about teaching music. He has taught everything from private lessons and beginning band to jazz combos and marching band. Learning from music educators across the country, Curtis gained various perspectives which guide his philosophy and teaching techniques. |
