Karine Koroukian is a graduate of Mannes College of Music, NY, with previous studies at McGill University in Montreal, Qc and Holy Spirit University in Lebanon. She is a first prize winner of Liszt and Ravel National Piano Competition and Spanish Music Competition in Beirut Lebanon. She has been widely broadcast on the National TV of Lebanon and the Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation (LBC); and had a live broadcasting session of Chamber Music from Mannes College of Music on WQXR. Ms. Koroukian has performed as a soloist and collaborative pianist in the US, including at Steinway Hall, NY; Strathmore Hall, MD; Weigel Hall, OH and Farleigh Dickinson University, NJ. She has also performed internationally in the UK, Canada, Spain and Lebanon.
Ms. Koroukian’s students have won multiple awards (in solo and duet categories) and have had appearances at Carnegie Hall in two consecutive years as prize winners in an international piano competition.
She has a live recording of piano solo works by Hadyn, Chopin, Brahms and Debussy and maintains a private teaching studio in Forest Hills, NY, where she teaches piano, music theory and ear training. In addition to teaching and performing, Ms. Koroukian is a Visual Artist with particular interest in portraiture. She is happy to have joined the Westerhoff School of Music faculty.
