Violinist Elizabeth Wright is a New Jersey-based performer and teacher. She has performed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, United Nations, Carnegie Hall, and in Europe, Asia, and around the US. Liz is violinist and co-founder of the award-winning Luminae Trio, which will release its first record this year (2025), funded with a grant from Chamber Music America. The Luminae Trio is a prizewinner of the 2023 American Prize in two categories: Chamber Music and the Performance of American Music. Before the formation of the Luminae Trio, Liz was Grand Prize winner of the 2015 Ruth Widder String Quartet competition, three-time winner of the Lillian Fuchs Chamber Music Competition, and recipient of the Kraeuter Musical Foundation Award for excellence in chamber music, which she received upon graduating with her Master's degree from Manhattan School of Music. Liz performs additionally with the Bach Choir of Bethlehem Festival Orchestra, the Washington Heights Chamber Orchestra, and freelances actively. A dedicated educator, she has taught privately since graduating from the University of Michigan with her Bachelor of Music in 2011. In 2024, Liz co-wrote and released The Feel Good Practice Journal, a companion for musicians designed to bring loving attention to the practice room. It can be found on Amazon.
